Have you ever wondered why some businesses are able to grow exponentially or at an unbelievable rate while others are not able to grow despite spending a fortune on their marketing?
The real question is not about having countless marketing ideas or strategies in place but rather is your marketing strategist implementing a suitable marketing plan for your business?
Below is a recount of my experience in the world of guerrilla marketing, its unique point and finally how I went on to specialize in the area commonly known as content marketing.
Marketing Ideas for Your Business
First thing first, with guerrilla marketing, the question to ask is where you are getting your strategies from?
Unfortunately many marketing managers rely on the same plans or tools their competitors are using believing that if everyone else is using it, it should be good right? And he truth is that there is another saying about if one blind man is leading another, both will fall into a pit.
Get Regular Updates on Proven Marketing Campaigns
When it comes to creating successful marketing campaigns, many companies are not updating themselves regularly or effectively enough. Just try to approach any marketing representative and ask them to list the number of tools they have in their marketing arsenal and at best, most will be able to name around 15 different tools.
Think about this, with only 15 tools at your disposal, how many methods can you truly apply and what are the chances that the tool you have is right for your business?
When I was first introduced to guerrilla marketing strategies, it was interesting to discover that there were different weapons to combat any type of challenges possible. Now imagine how your sales would be like if you had access to not just 15 tools, but instead have twice that amount of 30 marketing instruments. Not enough, what about 2 times that with 60 marketing ammunition. What about 2 times 60 again for a total of 120 marketing weapons and more?
And that’s the beauty of it all, to think creatively in finding new ways to grow your business. Especially when you find your growth to have been stagnant for a time now. Experimenting and testing strategies is the best way to introduce new growth potential.
Implementing the Ideas and Strategies
Seeking advice from my business mentor, Stuart Tan, I was exposed for a time to the world of guerrilla marketing. Since then, I would have to say that I’ve tried and tested many possible strategies especially in the internet aspect.
And while some are naturally easier than others, I have settled on becoming a specialist in a specific field by taking advantage of my knowledge in copywriting and creating content.
Now I help small businesses in implementing their content marketing efforts to build up their digital presence and I think its safe to say that it is always an ongoing journey.
